LEGACY

I feel you withdrawing now,
Fading, growing dim
Like the sun at the end of the day.
You are beyond the horizon
And yet still you light my soul.
I can let go
Only because I know
You will return the next morning.

If I look too closely
I am sure I will be blinded,
But somehow I am not.
As you slip below my line of sight,
Your memory burns clearly
In the night.
My dreams are safe
Because you found me.
