You told me to write.
Tamyka Bell
I decided to try.
As the words tumbled out
I thought I would cry.
In the dreams of my childhood,
So scared I would die.
And it's all washed away
In the blink of an eye,
In the change of an iris;
One breath, all it takes
To see through forever
And to raise the stakes;
To challenge the voices
Of the one who makes;
To feel this together,
The pleasures, the aches.
For you are here.
Now.
